  • BEST VET EVER!!! Our dog, Detroit, itched and scratched day and night without any relief in sight. He was broken out in scabs covering almost his entire body. The odor was so bad on him that I had to turn my head because it made me physically sick. What once was a extremely heavy coated dog had become almost bold. I have to say after taking our furboy to the primary vet, the dermatologist vet and had gotten to the point that he became resistant to every antibiotic, ...no creams , lotions or potions helped him! That was until my niece recommended Dr. Diane! Best thing we could have done for him. She truly is a godsend. After going to her for a few short months he had already turned around. Now he has one or two scabs that may break out from time to time, there is no odor at all and his hair is slowly coming back.   • Atticus has been seeing Dr. Gabriel for a little over a year for acupuncture and laser treatments once every two weeks. He was experiencing arthritis in his back leg, and it was definitely slowing him down. He was also unable to walk up the flight of steps in our home. I’m happy to report that Atticus is now walking up the steps on his own! He’s also running outside again which is so great to see! Dr. Gabriel also makes an all-natural remedy for Atticus (I call it his potion!) that is given to him with each meal. Overall, he seems to have more energy and is back to ruling the household. (As it should be!) Thank you, Dr. Gabriel, for making Atticus feel better and lessening the pain he was experiencing due to arthritis.

  • Two and half years ago, when Wylie was just shy of 8 years old, he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and arthritis in both hips. He limped and looked sad. Wylie wouldn't run or play and struggled to go up and down our stairs. We were referred by our veterinarian to The Animal Therapy Center where we met Dr. Diane Gabriel. "Dr. Aunt Diane", as she quickly became known to us, began her magic. It was amazing to see the immediate change! The acupuncture therapy that she began has truly been a life saver for Wylie. She has used the acupuncture and homeopathic remedies to address his Addison's Disease, arthritis/dysplasia as well as his most recent issues with a significant UTI and depressed appetite. Wylie absolutely loves "Dr. Aunt Diane" and wags his tail when he is done as if to say, "Thanks, I needed that!". We are forever grateful to Dr. Gabriel and her skills!

  • Leo is a charming, chubby orange tabby, who is almost 12 years old. Several years ago, he developed triaditis, a kitty cat disease involving the pancreas, liver and small intestine. The treatment is transdermal steroid cream, but steroids have bad consequences. With Dr. Gabriel's help -- acupuncture and herbal medications -- we've been able to reduce Leo's steroids to every other day. He doesn't mind his acupuncture and likes his food with the herbal additive. He's been great!

  • Reese became very ill at 1 1/2 years of age. After testing it was determined her kidneys were deformed and that was the reason they were not working correctly. She was put on a special diet and still got frequent UTIs resulting in many vet visits. It was suggested I try a holistic approach and I found Dr. Gabriel. She has been treating Reese with a combination of acupuncture, Chinese herbs and supplements since she was 2. Reese is now 5 and doing great! Her UTIs have dramatically decreased and we haven’t had any hospitalizations for her kidney issues since starting with Dr. Gabriel! Reese loves going to her and I can talk to Dr. Gabriel about any other unrelated problems Reese ( or my other dog, Lexi) has and she is always willing to give me ideas to try!   • Our little rescued Boston Terrier, Sophie, was diagnosed with H-pylori at a very young age. She started out with heavy medications which we weren't happy about and after seeing Dr. Gabriel, Sophie went on a specifically made tincture and power to cure her disease not mask it. Sophie was on her holistic treatment for about a year and is now fully weaned and healed. Without Dr. Gabriel, Sophie would not be as healthy and vibrant like she is today.   • Our boy, Bricks, has improved immensely from Dr. Gabriel's acupuncture treatments! He suffered 2 vertebral fractures 7 years ago with a recent acute episode of intense pain. We have seen the orthopedic surgeon, PT, and Dr. Gabriel for acupuncture. His greatest improvement with mobility resulted from acupuncture.   • Zoey “threw her back out” 3 times in one year. She literally cried out loud in pain when touched and could barely walk at times. We went to four different vets, was on multiple muscle relaxers, steroids and pain meds. Surgery would have cost thousands of dollars, requires months of inactive recovery, and has no guarantee. But after ONE ACUPUNCTURE treatment from Dr Gabriel she was like a puppy: running up and down the stairs! Veterinary Acupuncture

Simply put, Acupuncture is stimulation of special points on the body in order to evoke a desired healing effect. Techniques employed can involve Dry Needle technique, Aquapuncture, Electro-Acupuncture and Laser devices. Like most holistic modalities, Acupuncture can be used on its own or in conjunction with conventional medicine and surgery. It can benefit any disease process including liver and kidney disease, osteoarthritis and chronic pain, hip and/or elbow dysplasia, inflammatory bowel disease, allergies, respiratory issues, intervertebral disc disease (IVDD)-to name a few. Acupuncture brings forth a noticeable improvement, if not recovery, from many disease processes.

Aromatherapy:  Essential Oils & Hydrosols

You’ve probably heard of essential oils, (and perhaps hydrosols) by now.  They are most commonly made when bulk plant material, that inherently contain aromatic components, are steam distilled.  The end product is a highly potent and concentrated essential oil collected in a separate tank – it floats to the top.  The water component that is formed from this process is collected below the essential oil and is called the hydrosol.  Aromatherapy is the practice of utilizing these aromatic oils from plants for a therapeutic effect.  In veterinary medicine aromatherapy often takes the form of air diffusing or topical use.  When used, great care is taken to properly dilute the concentrated essential oil(s) in order to make them safe for use. I like to combine appropriate essential oils or hydrosols into a custom blend for topical use in your pet.    In addition, I often instruct owners to apply the blend to acupressure points for an enhanced effect.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbs can be safely and effectively used in many disease states or conditions. Herbs offer a gentle approach that aid the body in healing itself. They can be used on their own or with other holistic modalities, as well as conventional medicine when necessary.

Western Herbal Medicine

Western Herbal Medicine offers a gentle, yet effective approach to many health conditions. I customize herbal tinctures (or glycetracts) specific to your pet’s needs and ensure it can be used safely with conventional medicine, as necessary.

Laser Therapy

Laser is an acronym for Light Amplification of Stimulated Emission of Radiation. It is a focused beam of healing light energy. It is “non-ionizing” meaning it does not collect in tissues and so is very safe. The LZ30 (class 3b) laser I use is an excellent complement to acupuncture by enhancing anti inflammatory effects and decreasing chronic and acute pain.

Homotoxicology / Homeopathy

Based on the theory that “like cures like”. In keeping with holistic practices, homeopathy/homotoxicology believe the body has the ability to heal itself. The remedies may be single or combinations of diluted substances most derived from plants and minerals. Unlike conventional medicine, the more diluted the form of the substance, the stronger it becomes. In other words, the “energy” and strength of the substance is magnified as the concentration of the original is diluted. I often use as an adjutant to conventional medicine with pleasing results.
